3 TIPS TO TAKE ACTION AFTER THE WEBCAST
- If you are planning to leave money in your will to someone who is currently or will in the future be receiving ODSP for income support, you should review your existing will, especially if it is more than a few years old. Is it still appropriate? Does it include a trust for your beneficiary? Or do you need to plan to update it?
- If you don’t have a will, or need to update your will, you can use this worksheet to help you as you prepare to create or update your will. This worksheet is part of our coming update to the Safe and Secure book, Ontario Edition, created in partnership with PooranLaw and generously supported by the Law Foundation of Ontario.
- Consider having a conversation with other family members, like grandparents, who may also be planning to leave a gift in their will for your family member to make sure they are aware of how that gift might impact ODSP benefits. You can share the resources below with them.
