Family Compass: Guiding Care & Connection
The Family Compass: Guiding Care and Connection program is a new opportunity from P4P for families and caregivers, made possible through a grant from the Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation.
Family Compass Workshop Series
The Family Compass Workshops series is a FREE 3-part interactive virtual series designed to empower families and caregivers by providing practical guidance and support, helping to envision what’s possible as you take actionable steps toward creating a full life with and for your family member with a disability.
The workshop is divided into three 2-hour sessions as follows:
-
Part 1: Crafting a Future Vision
This session will help you clarify your vision and values, imagine a “good ordinary day,” and draft your first vision statement. We’ll help you translate your vision into concrete goals for home, relationships, and supports, strengthen and sustain the plan, while mapping out allies and resources.
-
Part 2: Discovering Purpose and Valued Roles
In this session, we’ll explore what gives your family member meaning and purpose. We’ll identify their unique gifts, interests, and strengths, and identify opportunities where they can contribute, belong, and be known for who they are.
-
Part 3: Building Relationships and Creating Connections
This final session will wrap up by helping you strengthen the relationships and networks that bring your vision to life. We’ll explore how you can build circles of support and cultivate a community where your family member is truly known, valued, and included.
Additional workshop dates will be released regularly until December 2026. Keep an eye out for emails from us as new sessions and cohorts become available for registration.

Our team is ready to support you in the following key areas:
-
Federal Financial Benefits: Assistance with the Disability Tax Credit (DTC), Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP), or the Canada Disability Benefit (CDB).
-
Provincial Funding & Government Programs: Guidance on navigating provincial systems like the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), Developmental Services Ontario (DSO), Passport Funding, or Special Services at Home (SSAH).
-
Planning for the Future: Strategies for moving forward in areas other than financial programs—such as building relationships and community, trying something new, or navigating life changes.
