Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities and their families? Partners for Planning (P4P) is seeking individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences to join our Board of Directors!
About Us:
P4P is a family-founded and family-led organization dedicated to providing essential resources through the Planning Network. P4P is a charitable organization and funded by various organizations and the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services. We empower families across Ontario to create a fulfilling and secure future for their loved ones with disabilities.
Why Join Our Board?
As a volunteer board member, you'll play a crucial role in steering our organization towards innovation and excellence, ensuring we continue to deliver top-notch strategies and resources while maintaining organizational integrity and fiscal health.
What We’re Looking For:
- Person-Centered Mindset: Knowledge of person-centered thinking to support individuals with disabilities in becoming valued citizens.
- Innovative Thinkers: Creative minds to help tackle complex social challenges.
- Diverse Experiences: We aim to represent the wide-ranging experiences of families across Ontario, from siblings to young families to those caring for elderly loved ones with disabilities.
- Business and/or Accounting Skills: Individuals with expertise in business and finance to help guide our strategic decisions and ensure financial sustainability.
- Geographical Diversity: We are limiting our search to Ontario residents only and are especially interested in candidates from outside the Greater Toronto Area to broaden our perspective and reach.
- Strategic Thinking: Individuals with experience in strategic planning and defining business objectives.
- Legal Services: Legal experience in defining corporate policies, mitigating risks, and advising on the implications of various government policies and how they will impact the lives of individuals with a disability.
Term and Meetings:
- Term: Board members serve three-year terms.
- Meetings: Participate in virtual meetings 6 to 8 times a year, with at least one in-person meeting in the Toronto area.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Board members are responsible for acting in the best long-term interests of the organization and the community and will bring informed decision-making, a broad knowledge base and an inclusive perspective.
Time Commitment: Three to five hours per month (meetings, preparation, consultation)
